HANDS ON REIKI THERAPY

WHAT IS HANDS ON REIKI?

Hands-on Reiki is a direct, in person experience where the Reiki Practitioner places their hands on a series of positions on your body (mainly your torso and head) and you (or your energy body)  draws the Reiki via the Practitioner as the conduit or 'plug-in' for as long as you need the Reiki for each position.

In traditional Japanese-style Reiki such as Komyo Reiki Do, Practitioners work intuitively rather than using set-positions which takes into the account the unique needs of the individual and is also considered to be more a more efficient process of healing.

The original practice of Reiki requires that the Reiki Pracitioner's hands are placed directly on the recipient's body.  Some ‘hover’ their hands above the positions although this is not in line with original teachings. 'Hovering,' however, can be useful when a client has an injury and it would be too painful to receive hands-on Reiki, but otherwise hands-on is best practice as taught and intended by Reiki Founder, Dr. Usui.

More about why hovering hands Reiki is generally not recommended.

INTRODUCTORY DISCUSSION

Your Hands-on Reiki session will take place at 85 Moor Street, Fitzroy, Melbourne.

The Reiki session will begin with an initial consultation, discussing your needs and expectations, an introduction about Reiki, what to expect and how the session will be conducted with ample time for you to ask any questions you may have about Reiki and/or what you are hoping to achieve from your Reiki treatment.

Zenshin Kekko will also be introduced to you and demonstrated using a proxy, after which you can choose to opt-in or opt-out of receiving this Traditional Reiki Technique at the conclusion of your hands-on session.  It is your responsibility to ensure that you have no contraindications for this type of technique if you decide to opt-in.

COMMENCING YOUR REIKI SESSION

Once you feel comfortable with what to expect from the session ahead, you will lie down on the comfortable Reiki table (fully clothed), and a light sheet or blanket will be placed over you to keep you comfortable for the duration of the session.

REIKI HAND POSITIONS

Your Practitioner will be seated on a chair next to you and throughout the Reiki session.  Guided intuitively by where the Reiki is most needed, they will place their hands on a series of positions on the front and back of your body (starting at at head).  By placing their hands on your body, they are connecting you to the Reiki and allow you to draw as much Reiki as you need in each of the hand positions.  The timing of each position varies according to your individual and unique needs.  Read more about 'timing of Reiki hand positions'.

AMBIANCE...

Soft, calming ambient music will be played for the duration of your Reiki session to promote a deep state of relaxation.

Generally there is little to no talking during the treatment to allow you to become fully relaxed and move deeply into the Energy’s work, although, you are encouraged to communicate with your Reiki Practitioner if necessary for your comfort.  This is your time and your healing and your comfort is paramount.

CONCLUSION OF THE REIKI SESSION

At the end of the session, you will enjoy a warm organic herbal tea to help you gently ‘come back’ into the world and to allow you the opportunity and space to debrief about anything you may wish to discuss about your experience during the Reiki session and any insights or questions you may have.

If any psychic impressions have come through to assist you in your next stage of healing and growth, you will be asked if you would like to receive and discuss them.  This not Reiki and is entirely optional and based on your comfort level.

WHY CHOOSE

HANDS-ON REIKI THERAPY?

BENEFITS...

Whether you receive Reiki in person or through Distance Healing, the Reiki you will receive is the same.

Some people prefer the hands-on Reiki treatment because of the direct experience with the Reiki energy which can be a really beautiful and powerful experience. Often, clients report feeling comforted from being unconditionally touched and ‘held’ in the energies. It is intimate and nurturing, and by mere fact that they are still and quiet and the Reiki Practitioner's hands are directly on their body, clients are often able to directly connect and feel Reiki energy.

Clients who have experienced the powerful effects of Zenshin Kekko, have also reported that they opt for a hands-on Reiki session in order to receive this at the end of their session.  As this is a hands-on technique, it is not available through distance.

Some clients also prefer to receive the Reiki in person because of the tranquil atmosphere of the healing room and the fact that the session allows them space and time to enjoy a period of quietness and deep relaxation away from their busy lives. It offers a moment to stop and become quiet.  The fact is, life can be quite hectic and no doubt we could all really do with that sort of time out!
